Exosomes
Tiny cell-to-cell messengers — buzzy in Korean clinics, mostly marketing in over-the-counter serums.
What it actually does
Exosomes are nanoscale vesicles cells release to send signals to other cells — growth factors, RNA, proteins, the whole package. Clinic exosome treatments (usually paired with microneedling or laser) have early but real evidence for skin rejuvenation. Topical 'exosome' serums are a different story: the molecules are fragile, hard to stabilize in a bottle, and the K-Beauty market has rushed in faster than the science. Some formulas use plant-derived exosomes (rose, edelweiss, ginseng callus) that are easier to manufacture but have even less data behind them.
Who it's for
Honestly, the clinic version is where the action is. Topical exosome serums are fine as a soothing, lightweight layer, but don't pay a premium expecting a procedure-grade result.
How to use it
Apply on bare or toned skin, evening, before moisturizer. No special pairing rules — treat it as a gentle supporting ingredient, not a hero.
