PDRN

also known as Polydeoxyribonucleotides, polynucleotides, salmon DNA

Salmon-derived DNA fragments — Korea's buzziest regenerative, with much stronger evidence as an injectable than as a topical.

What it actually does

PDRN is a mix of short DNA fragments, usually extracted from salmon or trout sperm. Injected (the Rejuran clinic treatment), it's well-studied for stimulating fibroblasts, accelerating wound healing, and improving skin density over a course of sessions. Topical PDRN is the version you'll find in Korean ampoules from Medicube, VT, Coreana and others — the molecule is large, and how much actually penetrates intact skin is genuinely unclear. Treat topical PDRN as a hydrating, soothing supporting act, not a replacement for the injectable.

Who it's for

Mature, post-procedure, or recovering skin looking for an extra calming layer. If you want the regenerative effect the marketing implies, the clinic version is the one with the evidence behind it. Skip if you're vegan or allergic to fish.

How to use it

Apply an ampoule or essence on damp skin, twice daily, and seal with moisturizer. Stacks fine with everything — no irritation risk to worry about.
