What it is
Short DNA fragments (typically extracted from salmon or trout milt) used topically as a soothing, hydrating ingredient and — much more effectively — as an injectable clinic treatment (Rejuran).
What it actually does
PDRN is a mix of short DNA fragments, usually extracted from salmon or trout sperm. Injected (the Rejuran clinic treatment), it's well-studied for stimulating fibroblasts, accelerating wound healing, and improving skin density over a course of sessions. Topical PDRN is the version you'll find in Korean ampoules from Medicube, VT, Coreana and others — the molecule is large, and how much actually penetrates intact skin is genuinely unclear. Treat topical PDRN as a hydrating, soothing supporting act, not a replacement for the injectable.
Why K-beauty uses it
The Rejuran clinic craze made PDRN a K-Beauty buzzword. Topical PDRN rides that halo but is realistically a hydrating supporting ingredient, not a mini-injection in a bottle.
