Our Story

Why we made this

Portrait

Annyeong — I'm Wendle, the person behind The K·Beauty Plug.

This started somewhere I didn't expect. I was diagnosed with a serious health condition, and one of the side effects of the treatment showed up on my skin and my face. When you're already not feeling well, watching your reflection change is its own kind of hard.

I'd never taken skincare seriously before. Suddenly I wanted to — and that's when I found Korean skincare. It changed my skin, and honestly, how I felt about myself on some really tough days. My condition left me sensitive to the sun, and Korean sunscreen became my holy grail: I'd never managed to stick with sunscreen before, but the quality and the range made it effortless.

The deeper I went, one thing became obvious: everyone's skin is different. The product everyone's raving about isn't automatically the one for you. And the further down I looked, the more incredible small brands I found — ones almost nobody was talking about, not because they weren't good enough, but because they don't have the marketing budgets the giants do. When you're new to K-beauty, the big names are all you see. The best stuff is often hiding one layer down.

I grew up in a small town in Hawaii, where looking out for each other is just how life works. The K·Beauty Plug is that instinct, turned into a place. For every K-beauty lover — whether you know exactly what you want, you've already got a holy grail, or you're starting from zero and just need a hand with a routine. And for the emerging brands that deserve to be found — real discovery in front of US shoppers, plus the tools to actually grow.

That's the whole thing. We rank by value and merit, never by who paid. We only ever point you to authentic sellers. No inventory to push, no rankings for sale.

You're here early, while we're still building this — and that genuinely means a lot.
