- Do I have to give you my email?
- Only for step 2. The price-spread result in step 1 needs nothing but your brand name. We ask for an email in step 2 because that is how the source first-look reaches you.
- Where do the price numbers come from?
- From our own weekly comparison of US retailer prices for the same product — the same snapshot behind our public price index. Every figure carries the date it was measured. It is one moment, not a market price.
- What if my brand isn't in the result?
- That usually means the brand hasn't launched in the US, or isn't yet in the retailers we track. You can ask to be added to tracking, and step 2 still works — the source check does not depend on US retail presence.
- Do you tell me whether a listing is counterfeit?
- No. We report what the marketplace displayed — the supplier, the listing, the wholesale price, the minimum order — each with the date observed. We never assert that a product is counterfeit and we never file a complaint on your behalf. You assess the facts and choose what to do.
- Does the scan cost anything, or lead to a ranking?
- The scan is free and it never affects a ranking. We never take payment to rank or feature a brand. If a paid China Source Check is the right next step we'll say so plainly, and if it isn't we'll say that too.
